Waste processing plants, landfills, installations: the Government approved the procedure for monitoring waste treatment facilities
In Ukraine, monitoring will be carried out by Ukrainian enterprises by analogy with European ones, in order to:
to determine the impact of their waste disposal facilities on the environment,,
take measures to reduce it.
In particular, they will measure:
- air condition indicators,
- underground and surface waters,
- soil,
- noise pollution, etc.
The collected information will be provided to the state for management decisions.
The procedure for monitoring waste treatment facilities was developed as part of the reform of the waste management system in Ukraine. The document complies with the provisions of three European directives:
- 2008/98/EC of November 19, 2008 on waste;
- 1999/31/EC of April 26, 1999 on waste disposal;
- 2010/75/EU of November 24, 2010 on industrial emissions (integrated approach to pollution prevention and control)
